Your base
First of all, there are an abundance of choices when it comes to a place to settle during your trip. Faro is highly recommended; here is why.

-
proximity to Faro International Airport, a direct destination for most major and many regional airports on the European continent (e.g., Paris, Amsterdam, London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, Rotterdam and many more).
-
Access to regional train and bus connections to nearby attractions and sceneries.

Historic Tour
Tavira – A picturesque town with the Tavira Castle ruins standing above over 30 churches.
2. Silves – The town “Silves” was founded in the times of Roman domination and was inhabited further back, in the Palaeolithic, also called the Old Stone Age. It has a lot to offer when it comes to history. Buildings such as the Castle of Silves were built in c. 201 BCE, over 2200 years ago from now!
3. Faro Old Town, Faro – Last but not least, since your base is in Faro, giving a visit to its Old Town goes without saying. It is peaceful, largely pedestrianised cobbled streets where historical architecture, some of the best maintained in the region, stands everywhere in the old town dating back to the 13th century. In short, a joy to stroll around at.
